What is AFS Youth Assembly?
The Youth Assembly is a platform hosted by AFS Intercultural Programs which serves to collectively gather a diverse array of young leaders and social entrepreneurs from over 100 countries to learn, actively engage, and collaboratively take action to resolve present-time global challenges. This year, the AFS 28th Youth Assembly is hosted in the vibrant city of New York, USA.
This assembly is anchored around the commemoration of International Youth Day, which is a poignant occasion highlighting the importance of youth vitality in shaping the world’s future trajectory. The theme of the 28th session of the Youth Assembly is “Breakthrough to a Better Future”. Throughout this session, the Youth Assembly will aim to cultivate a dynamic environment for discussions, skill-building workshops, networking, and inventive problem-solving. All these pivotal activities will be supported by the presence and expertise of experts and field practitioners who will contribute their insights to enrich the participants’ experience and support them to be changemakers.
Through this assembly, the young participants will be able to garner essential resources and opportunities that will serve as a key in their journey to becoming changemakers. With a clear objective of amplifying youth engagement and leadership in decision-making processes and actionable initiatives aligned with Global Goals, the 28th Youth Assembly fosters a collective ethos of empowerment and impact.
Our Delegate- Aurelia Bianca
Impactional will be represented at the 28th AFS Youth Assembly in New York by Impactional’s Director of Public Relations, Aurelia Bianca. Aurelia has a long history and background in international diplomacy, having graced more than ten national platforms to communicate the potency of youth involvement. Her contributions extend to her efforts in arranging substantive administration setup for conference meetings that resulted in a tangible clause on an official international declaration. Notably, she also possesses the honor of being a former AFS Kakehashi Alumna to Japan. As an Impactional delegate at the Youth Assembly, her itinerary to New York City will be covered by the AFS Youth Assembly Scholarship.
